In 1998, Eric and Kristen O'Brien founded O'Brien Commercial Properties at 5 Mount Royal Avenue, Marlborough, Massachusetts. Since then, they have grown the business and relocated their offices to the newly redeveloped 495 Business Center located at the crossroads of I-495 and I-290.

Eric began his career as a construction laborer for his father, the late T. Barry O'Brien. Barry was a pioneer of industrial real-estate development along the Route 495 corridor in the late 1960's and 1970's, building the region's first speculative industrial building in Hudson and developing a 250,000 square foot industrial park in Hopkinton. Upon graduating from New England College, Eric worked as a construction supervisor and later managed an industrial real estate portfolio for Jelric Realty Trust. After serving as Principal at Access Commercial Real Estate and Senior Vice President at Parsons Commercial Group, Eric and Kristen founded O'Brien Commercial Properties. Eric has served on the Board of Eliot Community Human Services, Inc., and co-founded and served on the Board of Directors of the Lazarus Project, Inc., a youth ministry. Eric, his wife Kristen, and their four children live in Harvard and are active members of Grace Baptist Church in Hudson. With over 20 years of performance-based client and personal success, Eric is focused on the brokerage and management of commercial and industrial properties in Eastern Massachusetts.  He has completed transactions of industrial building sales and leases ranging in size from 6,000 to 500,000 square feet and unimproved industrial land parcels up to 500 acres in size.
