Bellingham, MA, October 5, 2009 – Bret O’Brien of O’Brien Commercial Properties, based out of Marlboro, represented the seller, Lantor, Inc., in the sale of 125 Dept Street, Bellingham, MA. Lantor, Inc. sold its business operations to Ahlstrom in 2006. Ahlstrom continued to operate three shifts a day out of the facility until October of 2008 when approximately seventy employees were laid off and about a dozen were relocated in the move to South Carolina. Bret O’Brien also procured the buyer R&T Realty Corp. The principals of R&T Realty Corp. will bring two of their manufacturing companies under one roof at this new location. Hilliard Precision Products, currently located at 10 Lyberty Way in Franklin, provides high quality custom crafted precision metal fabrication for a diverse mix of manufacturing industries. Sanweld industries, currently located at 19 Industrial Park Road East in Oxford, is New England’s largest manufacturer of heavy duty commercial and professional spreaders. The buyer obtained an attractive SBA, Section 504, loan package through Webster Five, which included significant additional funds for custom improvements to the building above the $1,750,000 sale price.
